2. Eligible Users
Travel Pass is provided to individual users who satisfy the identity-verification procedures supported by the Service and the eligibility requirements of the partner card issuer.
Foreign nationals may complete identity verification using a passport, domestic residence card, or another form of identification supported by Travel Pass.
Eligible age, identity-verification methods, and card-use requirements may vary depending on applicable laws, the verification method, the card product, and the policies of the partner card issuer.
Specific eligibility requirements will be presented during account registration or when the relevant service is requested.
3. Account Registration and Identity Verification
Users may register for Travel Pass through the Travel Pass app.
Where identity verification is required to use a service, an electronic know-your-customer (eKYC) process may be carried out. Depending on the user's identity and the verification methods supported by the Service, this may involve a passport, domestic residence card, or another form of identification.
The electronic identity-verification process may include document-authenticity checks, face matching, and liveness detection.
Available services, card types, and usage limits may differ according to the outcome and assurance level of the identity-verification process.
4. Travel Pass Prepaid Cards
Users may register and use prepaid cards issued by partner card issuers through Travel Pass.
Supported card issuers and card products may vary depending on partnership and service availability. The card products actually available can be checked in the Travel Pass app or through official notices.
Prepaid cards may be issued as registered or unregistered cards, depending on whether identity verification has been completed and on the characteristics of the card product.
Registered Prepaid Cards
Registered prepaid cards are available to users who have completed identity verification and meet the requirements for the relevant card product.
After entering or while staying in Korea, users may collect a physical card at an airport or another partner collection point designated by Travel Pass, following an in-person identity check using a passport or another identification document accepted by the Service.
Top-up and usage limits for registered cards are determined by applicable laws, Travel Pass policies, and the policies of the partner card issuer.
Specific limits are available under Section 11 and in the Service.
Unregistered Prepaid Cards
Unregistered prepaid cards may be purchased at convenience stores or other sales locations designated by the partner card issuer or the Service.
Registration, top-up, and usage limits for unregistered cards are subject to applicable laws and the policies for the relevant card product and partner card issuer.
5. Prepaid-Card Registration
Users may register prepaid cards supported by Travel Pass in the mobile app.
Once a card has been registered successfully, users may check the following information or use related card-management features in the app:
- Card status
- Available balance
- Top-up and payment history
- Card suspension and reactivation
- Other card-management features
Whether a card can be registered and the applicable registration process may vary by card product and the policies of the partner card issuer.
6. Top-Ups
Travel Pass users may add funds to a prepaid card connected with Travel Pass using payment methods supported by the Service.
Primary top-up methods that are supported or planned to be supported include:
- Korean credit and debit cards
- Overseas-issued credit and debit cards
- Virtual accounts
- Partner pay services
- Other electronic payment methods supported by Travel Pass
Payment gateway providers (PGs), card issuers, and other financial institutions partnered with the Company may participate in the top-up process.
Payment approval, cancellation, and funds processing are handled in accordance with the policies and procedures of the PG, card issuer, and financial institution performing those functions. Crosshub Co., Ltd. does not hold users' top-up funds directly.
The countries in which each payment method is available, payment limits, fees, applicable currencies, and approval decisions may vary according to the policies of the relevant payment method and payment institution.
7. Balance and Transaction History
Users may review the balance and related transaction information for registered cards in the Travel Pass app.
Key information available for review includes:
- Current available balance
- Top-up history
- Payment history
- Payment cancellations and other transaction statuses
- Card status
Transaction information, including actual approvals, cancellations, and balances, may be reflected in the Service based on processing results from the partner card issuer, PG, and relevant financial institution.
Because processing times may differ among institutions, the time a transaction occurs may differ from the time it appears in the Travel Pass app.
8. Payments in Korea
Prepaid cards registered with Travel Pass may be used at online and offline merchants in the Republic of Korea where payment with the relevant card product is supported.
Although Travel Pass account registration and some supported identity-verification procedures may be completed from overseas, payment and use of prepaid cards connected with Travel Pass are generally provided within the Republic of Korea.
Card payments at overseas merchants are generally not supported.
Use may be restricted for certain merchant categories or transactions under applicable laws or the policies of the partner card issuer.
9. Lost Cards and Card Suspension
If a registered card is lost or stolen, or if fraudulent use is suspected, users may request measures such as card suspension through features provided by Travel Pass.
Where supported by the Service, users may request card suspension or reactivation through the app.
The final reporting of loss, suspension, reactivation, replacement, balance transfer, and any related compensation may be handled in accordance with the terms and procedures for the relevant card product and partner card issuer.
10. Integration with External Services
At a user's request, Travel Pass may integrate with partner services to provide features such as simplified sign-up or sign-in.
Where personal information or identity-verification results must be shared in connection with an external service, the Company processes the information only to the extent necessary and in accordance with applicable privacy laws.
Where separate consent is required to provide personal information to a third party, the Company will notify the user of the following matters and obtain any required consent before the information is actually provided:
- Recipient of the personal information
- Purpose of provision
- Personal information to be provided
- Retention and use period
- Matters relating to refusal of consent
Personal information requiring additional protection, such as passport numbers, alien registration numbers, and facial information, is not provided by default during ordinary simplified sign-up or sign-in to external services.
11. Service Limits
Travel Pass top-up and usage limits may vary according to the card type, whether the user has completed identity verification and the relevant assurance level, partner card issuer policies, and applicable laws.
- Unregistered cards: Subject to the limits for unregistered prepaid cards prescribed by applicable laws and the relevant card product
- Registered cards: Subject, within the limits permitted by applicable laws, to the service limits set by Travel Pass and the partner card issuer
Travel Pass plans to apply an operating limit of up to KRW 3 million to its registered-card service. Actual limits may differ depending on the card product, identity-verification status, and the policies of the partner card issuer.
Specific conditions, including per-top-up limits, daily and monthly limits, and maximum stored-value balances, will be made available in the Travel Pass app or elsewhere in the Service before an actual transaction or card use.
12. Cancellations and Refunds
Top-up cancellations, refunds of remaining prepaid-card balances, and merchant-payment cancellations may each be subject to different procedures.
Top-Up Cancellations
If topped-up funds have not yet been used, users may request cancellation through a method supported by Travel Pass. Whether cancellation is available and how it is processed depend on the policies of the payment method, PG, and card issuer.
Refunds of Prepaid-Card Balances
Whether a remaining prepaid-card balance can be refunded, the minimum refund amount, usage conditions, fees, and processing method are governed by applicable laws and the prepaid-card terms and policies of the relevant partner card issuer.
Merchant-Payment Cancellations
Cancellation of a payment for goods or services purchased with a prepaid card must generally be requested from the relevant merchant. The cancellation will be reflected in the balance and transaction history based on the merchant's cancellation approval and the card issuer's processing result.
For further details, please see the Travel Pass Cancellation & Refund Policy.
13. Protection of Personal Information
The Company processes personal information only to the extent necessary to provide Travel Pass and complies with applicable laws, including the Personal Information Protection Act.
For details on the purposes of processing, categories of personal information processed, retention periods, processing by service providers, third-party provision, cross-border transfers, and data-subject rights, please see the Travel Pass Privacy Policy.
Where a processing activity or third-party provision requires separate consent under applicable laws, the Company will provide the relevant information and obtain any required consent during use of the relevant service.
